SPC Nickel posts more encouraging drill results from its Lockerby East project in Sudbury, Ontario

The company recently completed an 18 hole, 5,200 metre program in a bid to evaluate and expand the higher-grade nickel-copper zone hosted within the larger West Graham deposit at the project

SPC Nickel Corp (TSX-V:SPC, OTC:SPCNF) has unveiled more encouraging drill results from its wholly-owned Lockerby East project in the historic Sudbury mining camp of Ontario.

The company recently completed an 18 hole, 5,200 metre (m) program in a bid to evaluate and expand the higher-grade nickel-copper zone hosted within the larger West Graham deposit at the project.

"We continue to be pleased with the assay results from the West Graham drilling program that now include only eight of the 18 holes drilled during the campaign," said Grant Mourre, CEO of SPC Nickel, in a statement.

"The drilling continues to return thick mineralized zones with nickel and copper grades that are equal to or better than the historic resource. Additionally, the high-grade massive sulphide intervals encountered in holes 008 and 009, have us excited about the overall potential of the property."

Specifically, hole WG-22-008 hit a broad zone of nickel-copper mineralization over 82.6m grading 0.68% nickel equivalent (Ni-Eq) from between 246m depth and 328.6m depth, including a higher-grade zone of 0.87% Ni-Eq over 16m.

Narrow intervals of high-grade massive sulphide were encountered in holes WG-22-008 and WG-22-009, including 2.15% nickel and 0.50% copper over 2m, SPC added.

Assays from the remaining ten holes are expected to be released as they become available, the company added.

The Lockerby East project hosts both the past producing Lockerby East mine and the unmined, near-surface West Graham nickel-copper sulphide deposit that contains over 47,000 tonnes of nickel and 34,000 tonnes of copper in indicated and inferred historical resources.

The West Graham deposit is characterized by a broad zone of disseminated to semi-massive sulphide that ranges from 1.7m to 66m thick and strikes for 375m with a dip extent of up to 533m.

Meanwhile, the Sudbury mining Camp is the second largest nickel camp in the world, with over 130 years of continuous production.

SPC Nickel is a new Canadian public company focused on exploring for nickel-copper-platinum in the Sudbury camp.

It wholly owns the Lockerby East and Aer-Kidd assets, which both lie in the heart of the camp. It also holds an option to acquire 100% in the Janes project located approximately 50 kilometres (km) northeast of Sudbury.
