British multinational Computacenter PLC (LSE:CCC) is set to release its 2022 interim results on Friday, September 9 amid a relatively positive climate for the UK’s information technology sector.
UBS reiterated a 'buy' rating leading up to the earnings call, noting: “After a strong Q1, the focus will be on whether any end markets have seen any evidence of deal delays and macro weakness, and to what extent inventory build-up has weighed on cash conversion.”
Competitor Kainos a week earlier reported “very strong” demand in its Thursday trading statement, with analysts at Shore Capital noting the company’s leading position in the public sector.
Meanwhile, US multinational Dell has been shoring up poor personal computer sales via its IT enterprise, suggesting the market is favourable to service and IT-oriented businesses right now.
Going forward, second-half momentum could be encouraged by Computacenter’s July acquisition of IT company Business IT Source.
Computacenter shares have fallen 17% year-to-date, while Kainos is down 26% and Softcat (LSE:SCT) is down 28% YTD.
