Advanced Material Development said the showcasing of its graphene-based conductive inks by a leading material insights company was a "true testament to AMD's ongoing material development".
The nHance branded inks, which offer a low-cost, recyclable connected way of making green RFID antennas, printed flexible electronics and EMI/RF shielding, have been selected for the material library of Material ConneXion, which is widely regarded as an authority on materials.
“Being accepted into the prestigious Material ConneXion material library, alongside other cutting-edge technologies, is true testament to AMD’s ongoing material development," said AMD chief executive John Lee.
Lee added that company believes that the Material ConneXion platform can help facilitate its collaborations with commercial partners.
Dr Gayatri Keskar, Material ConneXion's VP of research, said: “It’s encouraging to see how sustainability is no longer an afterthought and new material developments like nHance are providing functional, economical, and environmental benefits to design smart, flexible, and high-quality solutions for commercial production needs.”
Use of AMD's graphene-based inks has included work with Marks & Spencer to help it cut the amount of plastic clothes tags it sends to landfill as well as efforts to replace aluminium and plastic materials used in the RFID applications industry.
