Patrys hunts for new chair as company secretary takes on extra duties

The company has appointed Stefan Ross as a non-executive director and is also on the hunt for a new chair following John Read’s retirement.

Patrys Ltd (ASX:PAB) has appointed Stefan Ross as a non-executive director, effective today, to add to his current position as company secretary.

The therapeutic antibody development company will benefit from Ross’s 10-plus years of experience in accounting and secretarial services for ASX-listed companies.

Ross has extensive experience in ASX compliance, corporate governance control and implementation, statutory financial reporting, shareholder meeting requirements, capital raising management, and board and secretarial support.

The company is also on the hunt for a new chair of the board following John Read’s retirement, which takes effect today.

Michael Stork will act as interim chair while PAB gets the search for his replacement underway.

Ross will step down from his position as a director once a permanent chair has been found.

PAB is focused on the development of its deoxymab platform of cell-penetrating antibodies as therapies for a range of different cancer.

The deoxymab platform is based on the deoxymab 3E10 antibody. While most antibodies bind to cell surface markers, deoxymab 3E10 penetrates into the cell nuclei and binds directly to DNA where it inhibits the DNA repair processes.

Cancer cells often have high levels of mutations and underlying deficiencies in the DNA repair mechanisms. For these reasons, the additional inhibition of the DNA repair processes by deoxymab 3E10 can kill cancer cells while having little impact on normal cells.

As a single agent, deoxymab 3E10 has been shown to significantly enhance the efficacy of both chemo and radiotherapies in animal models of human cancer.
