Alto Metals Ltd (ASX:AME) has revealed the abundance of shallow, oxide gold at the Indomitable East prospect – part of the Indomitable Camp at the Sandstone Gold Project in Western Australia.
Reverse circulation (RC) drilling was completed on 80-metre spacing, targeting extensions of mineralised banded iron formation (BIF) with gold results of note including:
- 11 metres at 1.0 g/t gold from 63 metres, including 4 metres at 2.1 g/t from 70 metres;
- 13 metres at 5.4 g/t from 80 metres, including 3 metres at 16.7 g/t from 81 metres;
- 21 metres at 1.4 g/t from 33 metres, including 2 metres at 5.0 g/t from 41 metres;
- 16 metres at 1.6 g/t from 13 metres, including 3 metres at 5.6 g/t from 23 metres;
- 11 metres at 1.1 g/t from 4 metres, including 4 metres at 2.1 g/t from 4 metres and 3 metres at 2.3 g/t from 120 metres;
- 13 metres at 1.1 g/t from 166 metres and 7 metres at 1.3 g/t from 186 metres;
- 7 metres at 1.0 g/t from 38 metres and 7 metres at 1.5 g/t from 67 metres, including 1-metre at 6.5 g/t from 70 metres and 5 metres at 1.6 g/t from 78 metres; and
- 10 metres at 1.2 g/t from 68 metres, including 1-metre at 6.3 g/t from 73 metres
The mineralisation at Indominable East has been mapped over 800 metres of strike and remains open to the northwest and southeast and at depth.
“Further excellent results”
“We are pleased to announce further excellent results from our ongoing program at Indomitable, where we continue to define additional shallow oxide gold mineralisation outside the current resource,” Alto Metals managing director Matthew Bowles said.
“There is no mineral resource currently defined at Indomitable East and this latest drilling has, along with historical drilling, now defined mineralisation over 800 metres of strike that remains open to both the northwest and southeast.
“These results continue to highlight the camp scale growth potential we see at Indomitable, which sits within a much larger 20-kilometre gold corridor.
“Assays are currently pending from the drilling recently completed at the Musketeer target and the rig has now been moved back to follow up on some of the recently announced shallow high-grade intercepts from Indomitable North, including SRC629 which returned 15 metres at 4.2 g/t gold from just 30 metres depth.”
Alto has not yet generated a mineral resource for Indomitable East, which has the potential to add materially to the Indomitable Camp’s resource.
The company considers the Indomitable Camp to be a large, under-explored mineral system over more than 2 kilometres of strike hosted in what is believed to be a 20-kilometre-plus gold corridor.
Forward steps
Alto is still awaiting assays from over 4,000 metres of RC drilling at the Musketeer prospect and has resumed drilling at the Indomitable and Indomitable North prospects.
The company is also continuing regional targeting activities over the greater Sandstone Gold Project, including around the historical Hacks and Oroya mines.
