Carnavale Resources Ltd (ASX:CAV) is encouraged by the signs from a third completed aircore program at Ora Banda South Gold Project in Western Australia to follow up on high-grade gold previously intercepted at the Carnage and Highlander prospects.
The follow-up campaign targeted an area of 2.5 kilometres by 500 metres at Carnage, that remains open, and 2 kilometres by 400 metres at Highlander, that also remains open.
CAV has completed 105 aircore holes for 8,885 metres and plans to drill test the deeper extensions of the regolith anomalies with reverse circulation (RC) drilling to 200 metres, subject to the results of the current aircore campaign and rig availability.
Results are expected in the early part of the fourth quarter.

CAV chief executive officer Humphrey Hale said: “We are excited about the third aircore program at Ora Banda. This program starts to tighten up the line spacing on the substantial anomalies that cover multiple kilometres of strike.
“We have demonstrated that the system is gold bearing, now we have to zoom in on the highest grade so that we can target the fresh rock source with RC drilling.
"We have been able to drill deeper into the sediments with this rig, which will help us define the gold anomalies in more detail.”

There is gold
The previous aircore drilled on wide spaced lines had uncovered significant shallow bedrock gold. Results had confirmed a gold-bearing system with a strike length of 15 kilometres.
Some of the significant results from previous aircore drilling include:
- 4 metres at 8.82 g/t gold from 40 metres;
- 8 metres at 2.74 g/t from 48 metres (including 4 metres at 5.10 g/t from 52 metres;
- 4 metres at 2.69 g/t from 36 metres;
- 4 metres at 2.49 g/t from 48 metres;
- 8 metres at 0.58 g/t from 32 metres; and
- 4 metres at 0.97 g/t from 36 metres.
About Carnage
The prospect is dominated by a sequence of sedimentary rocks crosscut by the Carnage Shear and overlain with a layer of transported material that is up to 40 metres in places.
It has a confirmed gold anomaly up to 500 metres wide and 2.5 kilometres long that is open to the northeast south and southwest strike trends.

About Highlander
The geology of the prospect is similar to Carnage, with a blanket of anomalous gold. Previous aircore drilling intersected high-grade gold mineralisation, with a strike length of more than 2 kilometres, which remains open to the Southwest and Northeast.
The supergene gold anomaly extends over 400 metres in width and is made up of anomalous gold in the transported horizon directly associated with and overlying gold anomalism in the underlying residual saprolite.
