Prospector Metals Corp. (TSX-V:PPP, OTCQX:ETHOF) has announced additional high-grade gold grab samples and two new occurrences as part of the 2022 exploration program at its Toogood property in Newfoundland, which included yields of up to 67.23 grams per tonne (g/t) gold at the newly-identified Vic prospect, 29.51 g/t gold at the Chimo prospect, and 15.29 g/t gold at the Sherwood zone.
The gold and base metals exploration company said the new Vic occurrence has been identified through prospecting along the trend of the Virgin Arm Fault/Dunnage Melange contact one kilometre (km) southwest of the Sherwood zone, while follow-up prospecting has confirmed the presence of gold at the newly named Chimo prospect located 350 metres southeast of Sherwood.
“These additional high-grade gold results from our prospecting program continue to add significant discovery potential at Toogood,” Prospector Metals CEO Alex Heath said in a statement.

“With large areas of untouched ground, we are just getting started and are excited to continue exploring untested areas,” Heath added.
Prospector noted that at Sherwoood, visible gold was identified in samples 806670 and 802045, which assayed 15.29 g/t gold and 13.31 g/t gold, respectively, with 17 of the 28 samples grading greater than 0.2 g/t gold.
The company added that the initial results from the Sherwood zone confirm the presence of gold within the Virgin Arm Fault system, which can be traced for nearly 5 km across the Toogood property and represents a promising target for future exploration.
As well, Prospector said it received a new Exploration Approval in August for drilling and trenching at the Toogood property for the 2022-2023 seasons.
