SensOre Ltd (ASX:S3N) has welcomed gold results supporting the utility of its machine-learning mining technology, which helps pinpoint targets for further exploration.
The ASX-lister has developed proprietary AI-enhanced technology to assist miners to integrate, interrogate and analyse geoscience data and increase the potential for mineral discovery.
Gold anomalism
The company says results from a regional aircore drilling program at its Balagundi Joint Venture and Central Balagundi Joint Venture projects near Kalgoorlie in WA have revealed gold anomalism in the central target area.
The program aimed to test several untested or ineffectively drilled areas onsite identified using a surface gravity survey and multielement geochemistry bottom-of-hole resampling.
Highlights
Best results were from drill hole 22BGAC045, which returned 9 metres @ 0.81g/t gold from zero metres, 24 metres @ 0.48g/t gold from 13 metres, including 4 metres @ 1.19g/t gold from 2 metres and 4 metres @ 2.03g/t gold from 13 metres.
Results are up-dip from a previously reported reverse circulation (RC) intercept in drill hole 21BGRC004 which returned 34 metres @ 0.54g/t gold from 96 metres, including, 1 metres @ 5.4g/t gold from 96 metres, 2 metres @ 3.6g/t gold from 114 metres in a zone of 16 metres @ 0.8g/t gold from 114 metres.
The aircore program also intersected elevated multi-element pathfinder elements, including arsenic and tungsten, over the central corridor.
“The results in the central corridor, where the AI target was identified, support deeper targets predicted from the modelling,” said CEO Richard Taylor.
“Conventional target testing using gravity, geochemistry, drilling, and geological mapping have been augmented with machine learning including the application of SensOre’s new SimClust workflow.”
Role of AI
SensOre applied its machine learning workflow for lithology classification, resulting in a better understanding of the geology of the Balagundi goldfield.
The use of advanced pathfinder analysis and other machine learning tools helped it to build a comprehensive targeting dataset, which will be applied in the important next phase of deeper drilling to test the predicted mineral system.
About Balagundi
The joint venture project can be found in the gold-rich Norseman-Wiluna belt of the Yilgarn Block in WA, east of Kalgoorlie and the 73-million-ounce KCGM Super Pit and 20 kilometres southeast of the 7.8-million-ounce Kanowna Belle mine, both owned and operated by Northern Star Resources.
SensOre and its subsidiary Yilgarn Exploration Ventures Pty Ltd (SensOre 60% and Gold Road Resources Ltd (ASX:GOR) 40%) have interests in several projects in the Kalgoorlie region, including the Maynards Dam farm-in project, the Balagundi and Central Balagundi farm-in projects and Providence Bore.
Historical records show gold production of about 4,000 ounces or 120 kilograms of gold at the Balagundi Mining Centre, mostly produced from Mt Bellew and Balagundi Consolidated Gold Mines, with production coming from narrow, high-grade quartz veins.
Previous gold exploration consisted of surface sampling, prospecting and first-pass drilling, which was mainly focused on the northern portion of the project area.
Historical records indicate that limited advanced exploration techniques, such as systematic drilling, infill geophysics, litho-geochemistry and detailed structural studies, have been applied to date.
