An 11% pay increase for around 700 Kraft Heinz Co (NASDAQ:KHC) workers has been secured by UK union Unite.
Workers will receive two one-off payments totalling £1,200 in addition to a 5.5% increase in base rates, Unite said in a statement.
Payouts of £500 will be made immediately, followed by £700 in January 2023, subject to attendance. National insurance and income tax deductions do not apply to the one-off payments.
Workers will also get to the additional three days off over the Christmas period.
The deal is estimated to add 11% to workers' yearly wages, according to the union.
"This is a great result for our members at Heinz and a win for the local Unite reps. It is yet another example of Unite’s absolute focus on jobs, pay and conditions delivering results for workers," Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said in a statement.
Unite has also secured substantial wage increases at Mondelez (NASDAQ:MDLZ)'s Cadbury and Barry Callebaut over the past few months.
"Heinz is one of a number of food industry employers where Unite has recently negotiated creative pay deals to help offset the cost of living crisis for our members," added Unite national officer Joe Clarke.
