Great Boulder Resources Ltd (ASX:GBR) has continued to deliver high-grade gold at its Ironbark and Mulga Bill Prospects, situated within the Side Well Gold Project, near Meekatharra in Western Australia.
The company has received final results for the phase two reverse circulation (RC) drilling at Ironbark, along with initial results from Mulga Bill and Flagpole, with encouraging hits including:
- 11 metres at 7.31g/t gold from 46 metres, including, 4 metres at 15.27g/t from 47 metres;
- 28 metres at 1.13g/t from 64 metres, including, 8 metres at 2.91g/t from 84 metres;
- 4 metres at 25.89g/t from 210 metres, including, 2 metres at 49.73g/t from 210 metres; and
- 3 metres at 9.39g/t from 86 metres.
Looking ahead, RC drilling will continue at Mulga Bill with a third round of drilling at Ironbark to kickoff shortly.
A concurrent auger drilling program is also underway to identify potential Ironbark analogues over a prospective seven-kilometre strike length.
Meanwhile, at Whiteheads, GBR has received aircore (AC) drilling results highlighting shallow gold anomalies over the Arsenal trend requiring follow-up RC drill testing.
More Ironbark-style discoveries
GBR managing director Andrew Paterson said: “Ironbark is continuing to provide plenty of excitement with another very high grade, shallow intersection at the south end.
“We’re planning to start a third round of Ironbark definition drilling in the next few days to continue defining these high-grade zones.
“Early results from RC drilling at Flagpole demonstrate the potential for it to become another highgrade zone within the 6km Mulga Bill corridor, and Mulga Bill itself continues to provide more highgrade intersections.
“There will be more news from those programs in the weeks ahead.
“While the drilling has been underway our field team has also started auger sampling along the target area south of Ironbark, where we have more than 7km of untested stratigraphy.
“We are hoping to make more Ironbark-style discoveries in this area over the second half of the year.”
Forward plan
RC drilling is continuing at Side Well, with the rig rotating between programs at Mulga Bill, Ironbark, Flagpole and Loaded Dog.
The third round of definition drilling at Ironbark is expected to commence in the next few days.
Greenfields exploration has now commenced along strike from Ironbark with an auger soils program testing for geochemical anomalism over prospective stratigraphy between Ironbark and the southern tenement boundary, a distance of more than 7 kilometres.
As Ironbark was originally identified as a two-point auger anomaly on the southern-most line of auger sampling in 2020, any similar anomalies will be systematically tested with AC drilling in the coming months.
