PNX Metals Ltd (ASX:PNX) has strengthened its geology team with the appointment of mining industry veteran Dr Michael Green as the new exploration manager of the company.
Dr Green will lead the geology team in formulating and managing the company’s gold and base metals exploration in the Pine Creek region of the Northern Territory.
Notably, He brings a wealth of exploration experience to the table which will be invaluable as PNX continues its strategy of developing exploration areas into operational mines.
Highly-qualified Geologist
PNX managing director James Fox said: “We are very fortunate to have Michael join the team on a permanent basis as the Company’s new Exploration Manager.
“Michael is a well-respected and highly qualified Geologist and a key part of the management team.
“He has been tasked with discovering and delineating new gold and base metals deposits capable of supporting PNX’s 100% owned Fountain Head gold and Hayes Creek zinc-gold-silver projects.
“Michael is a lateral thinker with a sound understanding of the Pine Creek geology and has the right skill set and track record to contribute to the success of the Company.”
Notable roles
Dr Green is a qualified geologist with over 25 years of industry experience and has been engaged by PNX for the past 18 months as a consultant.
Upon completing his PhD at the University of Sydney in 2001, he started work for the Northern Territory Geological Survey as part of the North Arunta - Tanami mapping team.
He subsequently worked for Tanami Gold managing their gold and base metals assets in the NT and assisting with the development of the Coyote Gold Mine.
Dr Green continued to work in the NT as an independent exploration consultant to numerous private and publicly listed explorers, including Arafura Resources and KGL Resources.
He also worked on several overseas projects, including six years living in the Republic of Cyprus where he was Chief Operating Officer for ASX-listed BMG Resources and then managed the Cyprus exploration program for London-listed Chesterfield Resources.
Dr Green was an integral part of the teams that discovered the Portia gold deposit in South Australia and George’s Reward gold deposit in Western Australia.
