District Metals reports bonanza grade gold and significant zinc equivalent intercept at Tomtebo property in Sweden

District Metals CEO Garrett Ainsworth said the company continued to grow the Steffenburgs zone at its Tomtebo property with another high-grade polymetallic intersection from hole TOM22-038

District Metals Corp. (TSX-V:DMX) has reported encouraging drill results from its 750 metre (m) Spring 2022 drill program at its polymetallic Tomtebo property in south-central Sweden.

The company said drill hole TOM22-038, which targeted the Steffenburgs zone massive sulphide lens down-plunge between two previous drill holes, intersected 25.5 m at 8.2% zinc equivalent (ZnEq), including 11.1 m at 11.1% ZnEq and 3.6 m at 15.8% ZnEq.

District also reported a bonanza grade gold interval of 384 grams per tone (g/t) of gold and 855 g/t silver over 0.4 m, capped at 10 g/t gold for the ZnEq calculation.

District CEO Garrett Ainsworth said the company continued to grow the Steffenburgs zone with another high-grade polymetallic intersection from hole TOM22-038.

“Elevated gold values continue to be observed above and below the massive sulphide lens at the Steffenburgs zone,” he said.

“The occurrence of bonanza grade gold of 384 g/t over 0.4 m in TOM22-038 now becomes an even more interesting target as we look to follow up where the volcanic massive sulphide (VMS) mineralization is open at depth, and partially along strike."

A second hole, TOM22-037B, was drilled 655 m northeast from the historic Tomtebo Mine to test a magnetic high anomaly along the Tomtebo Mine VMS mineralized horizon but it did not return significant assay results, the company said.

District’s mandate is to seek out, explore, and develop prospective mineral properties through a disciplined science-based approach to create shareholder value.
