NorthWest Copper Corp (TSX-V:NWST) revealed that it has found more very high-grade copper and gold mineralization at its Kwanika project in British Columbia.
Highlight results from the second set of assays, from four holes, from this year's ongoing drilling program included 109.05 metres (m) of 0.89% copper-equivalent (CuEq) from a depth of 27m in one hole, including an interval of 1.45m at 14.52% CuEq.
Notably, this hole contained intervals of so-called 'chalcocite breccia' with similar geology to an intercept last year of 9.4m at 33.60% CuEq in another hole.
"The high-level objectives of the 2022 Kwanika drill program are to grow the size of the resource and to improve the grade," Peter Bell, NorthWest CEO, told investors in a statement.

"One of the targets is to find additional very high-grade copper and gold mineralization as encountered in drill hole K-21-217 in 2021.
"We believe we have found more of this material in hole K-22-232 and have named this type of mineralization 'chalcocite breccia'. While the new interval is narrower than last year's hole, it is much closer to surface and suggests potential for multiple very high-grade zones within the deposit," he added.
Other drill highlights from this year's program were 102.90m at 1% CuEq from 30m depth in one hole, including 2m at 4.06% CuEq, the firm added.
NorthWest Copper's flagship projects are Kwanika and the adjacent Stardust deposit.
Similarly to the first set of drill results from Kwanika, the latest four holes targeted expansion and delineation of near-surface high-grade zones in the southern part of the Kwanika Central Zone.
Drilling at Kwanika has been underway since March 25 this year, with 28 holes and 11,089m sunk to date. Results from seven holes have been reported so far, with the remainder outstanding.
NorthWest Copper is a new copper-gold explorer and developer with a pipeline of projects in British Columbia. With a robust portfolio in a tier one jurisdiction, it says it is well positioned to participate fully in a strengthening global copper market.
