Darktrace soars on bid approach from Thoma Bravo

Darktrace floated on the London Stock Exchange in April last year

Shares in Darktrace PLC (LSE:DARK) jumped over 20% after the cybersecurity company revealed it is in talks over a possible takeover from tech investment firm Thoma Bravo.

In a statement issued late Monday, Darkspace said the discussions are at a preliminary stage and there is no certainty an offer will be made.

Thoma Bravo has until 12 September to make an offer or walk away.

Darktrace floated on the London Stock Exchange in April last year at 250p per share.

The shares surged 20.31% to 499.04p in midmorning trade.
