Kingston Resources Ltd (ASX:KSN) has intersected more broad zones of shallow high-grade base metal and gold from drilling targeting the Southern Ore Zone (SOZ) at its Mineral Hill Mine Project in New South Wales.
High grade base metal and gold mineralisation has been intersected 50-75 metres up dip from the underground development and approximately 120 metres along strike to the north, further demonstrating the potential of the highly prospective project.
The eight-hole diamond drilling campaign was aimed at extending the spatial location and tenor of mineralisation, and the geological interpretation within the upper portions of the SOZ A-Lode, areas historical mining did not target.

SOZ hosts a 1.8-million-tonne resource at 1.79 g/t gold and 1.2% copper, and importantly, much of the necessary underground development and infrastructure is already in place.
“This current drill program represents another important step on our pathway towards proving up a low capital cost restart of production from SOZ as part of the mine plan we aim to have in place post tailings processing at Mineral Hill.”
Base metal rich zone
Follow-up drilling on step out sections to the north returned significant high-grade mineralisation including:
- KSNDDH007 - 8.1 metres at 0.9% copper, 8.3% lead, 3.3% zinc, 0.97g/t gold, 60g/t silver from 157.9 metres, including 1.0 metres at 2.7% copper, 14% lead, 7.8% zinc, 0.87 g/t gold, 105 g/t silver from 158.9 metres;
- KSNDDH008 - 7 metres at 0.7% copper, 2.9% lead, 2.6% zinc, 1.31 g/t gold, 26 g/t silver from 154 metres;
- KSNDDH009 - 8.5 metres at 0.4% copper, 4.2% lead, 4.2% zinc, 1.23 g/t gold, 28 g/t silver from 232 metres; 8 metres at 0.8% copper, 2.5% lead, 1.7% zinc, 0.68 g/t gold, 29 g/t silver from 244 metres, including 3 metres at 1.3% copper, 2.2% lead, 2.2% zinc, 0.77 g/t gold, 27 g/t silver from 244 metres;
- KSNDDH010 - 12.5 metres at 0.6% copper, 1.2% lead, 1.5% zinc, 0.33 g/t gold, 27 g/t silver from 164.5 metres, including 4 metres at 1.1% copper, 1.6% lead, 2.2% zinc, 0.64 g/t gold, 49 g/t silver from 172 metres; 9 metres at 0.7% copper, 0.6% lead, 1.5% zinc, 0.87 g/t gold, 8 g/t silver from 191 metres; 2.1 metres at 2% copper, 0.4% lead, 0.2% zinc, 0.08 g/t gold, 7 g/t silver from 210 metres including 1 metre at 0.5% copper, 0.8% lead, 1.1% zinc, 1.15 g/t gold, 11 g/t silver from 222 metres;
- KSNDDH011 – 39 metres at 1.1% copper, 0.7% lead, 0.8% zinc, 0.93 g/t gold, 12 g/t silver from 161 metres, including 30.8 metres at 1.4% copper, 0.8% lead, 0.9% zinc, 1.06 g/t gold, 14 g/t silver from 165.2 metres; 3 metres at 0.2% copper, 0.3% lead, 1.3% zinc, 0.72 g/t gold from 216 metres; 5 metres at 0.2% copper, 1.5% lead, 1.9% zinc, 0.89 g/t gold, 24 g/t silver from 223 metres; and
- KSNDDH012 - 17.3 metres at 0.3% copper, 1.2% lead, 1.0% zinc, 1.32 g/t gold, 24 g/t silver from 158 metres, including 9.8 metres at 0.7% copper, 3.2% lead, 3.2% zinc, 4.22 g/t gold, 30 g/t silverr from 165.5 metres.

High-grade gold too
Assays include significant high-grade gold zones which were intersected within and overlapping with the base metal mineralisation up to 75 metres above and 120 metres to the north of the previously mined lodes. Some of the highlights include:
- KSNDDH009 - 4 metres at 2.28 g/t gold, 0.48% copper, 6.11% lead, 3.62% zinc, 41 g/t silver from 232 metres;
- KSNDDH010 - 6.4 metres at 1.76 g/t gold , 0.76% copper, 1.09% lead, 1.29% zinc, 16 g/t silver from 228.4 metres, including 2 metres @ 2.79 g/t gold, 0.65% copper, 1.3% lead, 1.72% zinc, 20 g/t silver from 226 metres;
- KSNDDH011 - 24 metres at 1.29 g/t gold, 0.65% copper, 0.75% lead, 1.21% zinc, 9 g/t silver from 195 metres; and
- KSNDDH012 - 9.8 metres at 4.22 g/t gold, 0.7% copper, 3.2% lead, 3.2% zinc, 30g/t silver from 165.5 metres; 9 metres at 1.34 g/t gold, 0.35% copper, 1.6% lead, 1.35% zinc, 14 g/t silver from 179 metres; and 3 metres at 14.10 g/t gold, 0.08% copper, 0.24% lead, 0.18% zinc, 0.18 g/t silver from 215 metres.

Next steps
Kingston views the completion of the first phase of drilling as a significant milestone to complete an updated mineral resource estimate for the SOZ before the end of the year. Work to include the geological modelling and new results with historical data sets has commenced.
The SOZ is a key component of the ongoing mine development plan to bring the Pearse open pits and SOZ underground back into production at the conclusion of the tailings processing. Dewatering of the SOZ underground access decline is progressing in preparation for design and planning and re-accessing underground drill platforms for future underground drilling.
