Qmines Ltd has demonstrated significant regional potential through data mining of historic information at its flagship Mt Chalmers Copper-Gold Project, 17 kilometres northeast of Rockhampton, Queensland.
The company’s review of historical data has identified seven soil anomalies which have the potential to be regional repeats of Mt Chalmers.
Qmines is undertaking an aggressive drilling operation at the three prospects, designed to increase the existing resource and assess its viability as a standalone mining operation.
Looking ahead, ongoing geological interpretation and modelling continues on regional prospects and a third resource upgrade is planned for release before the end of 2022.
Drill program
The company has more than 30,000 metres of RC and diamond drilling planned for Mt Chalmers.
Drilling has kicked off at the Woods Shaft, Botos and Mt Warminster prospects.
To date, the company has drilled 93 holes across 12,376 metres at the prospects.
Plans are underway for a follow-up downhole electromagnetic survey, which will provide better confidence for a planned airborne survey.

Historic data digitisation
Qmines has completed the historic soil sampling digitisation at Mt Chalmers, which serves as the database for the data mining program.
All relevant Geological Survey of Queensland (GSQ) exploration reports have now been digitised by Orr and Associates Pty Ltd.
The data comprises 695 historic holes drill across 59,483 metres at the project.
Seven potential Mt Chalmers look-alikes
During the data mining of historical data, Qmines identified seven large copper and zinc anomalies surrounding MT Chalmers, which have the potential to be Mt Chalmers look-alikes.
The newly identified prospects are similar in scale and tenor to the distinctive geochemical signature of the Mt Chalmers VHMS deposit.
