Elementos' infill drilling program intersects additional tin mineralisation at Oropesa Tin Project

The intersections are broader than previous company modelling would suggest and bolsters Elementos' confidence that it is well-positioned to help bridge the forecast significant tin supply shortfall in coming years.

Elementos Ltd (ASX:ELT, OTC:ELTLF) is having some good luck at the Oropesa Tin Project in Spain, with infill drilling intersecting more tin mineralisation.

The company confirms that intersections it has discovered of near-surface tin mineralisation are significantly broader than previously modelled by its 2021 mineral resource estimate.

Broad intersections

Indeed, the first hole drilled during the nine-hole infill campaign, ADD_24, returned broad intersections at the margins of the current geological resource, including:

  • 37.9 metres @ 0.34% tin from 59.3 metres; and
  • 9.6 metres @0.2% tin from 109.3 metres (0.1% tin cut-off grade).

Managing director Joe David said: “This is an encouraging result to kick-off our 2022 infill drilling program at Oropesa.

“The main aim of this program is to upgrade the inferred mineral resources that reside within the US$30,000-per-tonne pit shell to a higher confidence resource category.

“Drill hole ADD_24 targeted the intersection of two significant previously interpreted controlling structures and confirms the continuity of the tin mineralisation at this location, but notably has intersected a much broader zone of mineralisation than currently modelled.”

About Elementos

The tin explorer boasts two flagship tin projects with large resource bases and significant exploration potential in mining-friendly jurisdictions.

An experience-heavy management team and board are driving the company’s mission to be a pure tin platform developing projects in multiple countries.

Elementos believes it is well-positioned to help bridge the forecast significant tin supply shortfall in coming years – a shortfall partly driven by reduced productivity of major tin miners and partly by increasing global demand due to electrification, green energy, automation, electric vehicles and the conversion to lead-free solders as electrical contacts.

The company is committed to the safe and environmentally conscious exploration, development, and production of its global tin projects.
