Joules names Jonathon Brown as new chief executive

Brown has extensive experience in large-cap companies, including Kingfisher

Joules Group PLC (AIM:JOUL), the clothing and homeware company, named Jonathon Brown as its new chief executive officer.

Brown will join the company on 7 September 2022 before becoming chief executive on 30 September, with current CEO Nick Jones stepping down from his role.

In a statement, Joules described Brown as a “proven leader with a strong track record of improving performance and implementing strategic transformation programmes across several digital and retail businesses”.

Brown has extensive experience in large-cap companies, starting his career in various roles are Schroders and Coca-Cola, before holding senior positions at Aviva, Kingfisher and John Lewis.

Most recently, he was CEO of Compare the Market, where he “led the business through a successful period of strategic transformation and growth.”

“I am delighted to have been selected to lead Joules at such an important time in its development. Joules is a very strong brand, with a highly relevant purpose and product proposition,” said Brown.

Joules last week confirmed talks that may lead to fashion giant Next PLC taking a minority stake in the company.

Last month, it enlisted KPMG's help to improve its cash position.
