Vuzix Corporation (NASDAQ:VUZI) said it has received a follow-on, six-figure order for additional pre-production units from a global tier-1 aerospace defense firm for their customized avionics waveguide-based head-mounted display (HMD) system.
The company said the customized HMD waveguide and HD display engine development program with this customer continues to expand and move toward production.
Vuzix said it has completed multiple stages of product development and refinement with this partner and it was getting very close to meeting the customer's requirements for production roll-out.

Vuzix CEO Paul Travers said, on the heels of last week’s L3Harris announcement, this follow-on order demonstrated that Vuzix was continuing to move forward with several large aerospace and defense players, in this case finalizing their solution and pursuing multiple production opportunities.
“OEM custom waveguide-based projects such as this represent a profitable vehicle for leveraging our extensive optical expertise and IP as well as our US production facilities,” he said.
Vuzix is a leading supplier of smart glasses and augmented reality technologies and products for the consumer and enterprise markets.
