Jarvo, a remote work platform, has snatched the record from Monzo for the fastest crowdfunding on the Seedrs platform, hitting its funding target in just 42 seconds.
With a platform that aims to allow people to hire out unused spaces in their homes for people who don't have space to work from home, Jarvo raised its £200,000 goal in less than a minute, raising £360,000, meaning it is 82% overfunded.
Monzo held the previous record of 96 seconds back in 2016.
Essentially an 'AirBnB for WFH', the idea behind the Jarvo platform is to bypass the need to commute to an office, or as the platform is described on its website, 'allows homeowners to share workspaces within their neighbourhood for remote teams to stay connected'.
Users will also generate an extra income by listing their spare workspace as potential work-ready spaces.
Jarvo's fundraising success highlights the change in employee behaviour, with a third of the UK still working from home.
“The traditional office space is dead, and while co-working spaces have opened up a world of collaboration, they also bring a host of challenges with them. They’re rigid, expensive and require lengthy commutes which people are just not prepared to do anymore,” said founder Daniel Hillman said.
“The future of work needs is one which is decentralised, diverse and truly sustainable - something which consumers are also championing.”
Jarvo was founded at the height of the pandemic by Hillman, with the platform already signing up 1,000 homeowners willing to list their spaces as ‘workspaces.’
Over 13,500 users are waiting to access the platform, with the group looking to expand into new territories.
