Maximus Resources Ltd (ASX:MXR) has executed a binding agreement to acquire the Kemble prospect, situated three kilometres north of its Wattle Dam Project, near Kambalada in Western Australia.
Notably, the prospect has a substantial gold-in-soil anomaly and is located on an underexplored mineralised corridor west of the regional Spargoville shear zone.
Recent prospecting activities have yielded considerable gold near surface, indicating potential mineralisation at depth.
Furthermore, the Kemble tenement is also prospective for nickel with favourable geology and anomalous nickel in soil samples.
Looking ahead, Maximus will carry out detailed field mapping before undertaking a high-resolution magnetic survey to assist in the planning and approval of future drill programs.
“Very encouraging”
Maximus managing director Tim Wither said: “The acquisition of the underexplored Kemble prospect expands the Spargoville gold and nickel exploration strategy.
A review of legacy exploration and geophysics data together with the recent prospecting activities are very encouraging, and we look forward to updating shareholders as we commence the Kemble exploration program over the coming months.”
Kemble tenement
The Kemble tenement is within a highly prospective and underexplored mineralised corridor situated near the company’s Wattle Dam Gold Project.
The tenement has had limited exploration comprising of surface sampling and several shallow drill holes.
Regional magnetics suggests the gold-in-soil anomaly and prospecting activity are coincident with a structural flexure as observed at other Spargoville gold occurrences.
