Aldoro Resources higher upon hitting thickest pegmatite zones to date at Wyemandoo lithium-rubidium project

The fresh intersections have helped the company understand the project's pegmatite orientation and plan for a follow-up drilling program at Wyemandoo.

Aldoro Resources Ltd (ASX:ARN) is trading higher after encountering the thickest pegmatite zones to date from its maiden reverse circulation (RC) drill program at the Wyemandoo Critical Metal Project.

The company has completed a total of 29 RC holes across 3,918 metres, intersecting multiple pegmatite zones up to 30 metres thick at Wyemandoo.

Standout assays include:

  • 5 metres pegmatite from 75 metres;
  • 11 metres pegmatite from 108 metres;
  • 6 metres pegmatite from 106 metres;
  • 8 metres pegmatite from 91 metres; and
  • 7 metres pegmatite from 106 metres.

Notably, drilling at the Wyemandoo Dome 2 target has encountered rich purple lepidolite mineralisation, defining areas that could host rubidium and lithium mineralisation.

Consequently, these intersections have helped the company understand the project's pegmatite orientation and plan for a follow-up drilling program at Wyemandoo.

Aldoro shares are up 27.3% to 28 cents in mid-afternoon trade.

Drill program

Aldoro’s initial 3500-metre program comprised 48 holes, ranging between 80 to 150 metres in depth on azimuths of 145 degrees and dips of -60 degrees based on mapping.

In June, the company intersected shallow zones of lithium mineralisation, with the majority of holes intersecting pegmatites of various intervals from less than one metre to six metres with pegmatite country-rock zones of up to 19 metres.

Encouraged by the results, the company increased the drilling program to 6,000 metres.
