Aben Resources (TSX-V:ABN, OTCQB:ABNAF) Ltd said it has finished up its first phase of fieldwork at its Slocan graphite project in British Columbia.
The Vancouver-based company said it has completed field reconnaissance, geological mapping, rock and soil sampling as part of its initial exploration to evaluate prospective drill sites for a potential drill program.
Aben geologists took 52 surface rock samples spanning over several kilometres, it noted.

“Geologic sampling and mapping has been greatly aided by the comprehensive network of logging roads that traverse the property and provide wide-spread rock exposure,” the company told shareholders in a statement. “2022 marks the first comprehensive exploration program to assess the potential for the property to host economic graphite mineralization.”
Aben noted that, based on early field observations, it increased its land holdings at Slocan by staking another 439.4 hectare claim, bringing the total holdings to 2,826 hectares.
The company told shareholders that the potential drill program is tentatively scheduled for fall 2022.
Slocan is located near to an existing graphite processing facility owned by Eagle Graphite Corporation, which is one of two natural flake graphite production facilities in North America. The property hosts several flake graphite-bearing outcrops with high values of 3.36% and 4.43 % graphitic carbon at the Tedesco Zone.
