Union Jack Oil says appeal made against North Kelsey planning permission decision

Union Jack holds a 50% economic interest in licence PEDL241, which holds the North Kelsey prospect.

Union Jack Oil said North Kelsey operator Egdon Resources lodged an appeal against Lincolnshire County Council’s refusal to to allow a planning permission extension to drill and test a conventional exploration well

Egdon submitted the appeal documentation to the Planning Inspectorate to be validated before an inspector is appointed and a timetable defined.

The appeal will likely be decided under the Written Representation Procedure, a process where PINS will consider written evidence from the appellant, the local planning authority and any other interested parties, Union Jack said in a statement.

North Kelsey is a conventional oil exploration prospect on trend with, and analogous to, the Wressle development 15 kilometres to the northwest.

Egdon estimates that gross Prospective Resources range from 4.66 to 8.47mln barrels of oil (mmbo) with a Mean Resource of 6.47 mmbo.
