Strickland Metals Ltd (ASX:STK) has discovered a new polymetallic prospect with high manganese content, dubbed ‘Malecite’, at its 80%-owned Earaheedy Project in Western Australia.
The company defined Malecite with rock chip samples taken from an outcropping gossan with returned peak results of 7.3% lead, 0.5% copper, 4.8 g/t silver, 0.4% zinc and 25% manganese.
STK also conducted induced polarisation (IP) surveying, which highlighted a 400-metre-wide chargeability and gravity anomaly below the outcropping gossan at Malecite, as well as another chargeability anomaly associated with a feeder structure at Iroquois.
Strickland has also identified several more lookalike geophysical anomalies near both Iroquois and Malecite, none of which have been tested by drilling.

“A very exciting story is continuing to unfold at our Earaheedy project,” Strickland Metals CEO Andrew Bray said.
“Strickland has continued to steadily advance the project while undertaking substantial drill programs at its flagship Millrose gold project.
“Further soil sampling, rock chip sampling and geophysics work has occurred at the Earaheedy project in recent weeks and months.
“After promising initial results from a soil sampling program, subsequent geological mapping has identified outcropping base metal gossan.
“Results from this confirm that the zinc and lead is associated with copper, antimony, cadmium, silver, and bismuth, typical of basin base metal mineralisation. This new prospect has been named Malecite.
“Subsequent IP surveying was undertaken during the last fortnight, which has highlighted chargeability anomalies associated with both Iroquois and Malecite, as well as the feeder structures to the mineralisation.
“These coherent structures and promising geochemical anomalies will all be drill tested following native title heritage clearance.”
Apart from the expected native title clearance, Strickland is also waiting on gold assays from its flagship Millrose Gold Project in the Yandal Greenstone Belt of Western Australia, expected within three weeks.
