Tirupati Graphite promotes Gogate to CFO role, plans to strengthen director presence in London

Tirupati has made a strong start to its life as a London-listed graphite company

Tirupati Graphite PLC (LSE:TGR, OTCQX:TGRHF) said it has promoted Mr Ameya Gogate to the role of chief financial officer.

Gogate is a chartered accountant who has held the position of financial controller with Tirupati since April 2019 and knows the business well.

He replaces Kien Huynh, chief financial officer since March 2019, who has now resigned in order to pursue other opportunities, the company said in a statement.

Gogate holds a bachelor's degree in commerce from University of Pune, India and a Global MBA (Finance) degree from S. P. Jain School of Global Management in Sydney, Australia.

He was awarded a Chartered Accountant certification from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in 2014 and was awarded a Diploma in International Financial Reporting Standards in 2015 from the ACCA in London.

Tirupati has also initiated a process to identify an additional non-executive director candidate, as well as a London-based executive director specialising in finance and project development to provide a board-level executive presence in London.

The company also announced that audited results for the 12 months ended 31 March 2022 are expected to be published on or before Monday 12 September 2022. The company's auditors have now been able to complete its visits to the operations in Madagascar following the easing of the country's travel restrictions.

"We are pleased to have appointed Mr. Gogate to the position of chief financial officer,” said Shishir Poddar, executive chairman of Tirupati Graphite.

“We thank Mr. Huynh for his valuable contribution and wish him all the very best in his future endeavours. Tirupati is working to strengthen our board and leadership team further, with a board-level executive presence in London. This will support our engagement with shareholders and also our plans to establish downstream and advanced materials facilities in the UK, particularly our discussions with the relevant policy makers and governmental authorities."
