Miramar Resources Ltd (ASX:M2R) has fielded more high-grade gold thanks to drilling at its 80%-owned Gidji Joint Venture (JV) Project in WA’s Eastern Goldfields.
The gold stock has been actively exploring at Gidji since listing on the ASX in October 2020 and believes there’s scope to encounter one or more material gold deposits within the project.
Fast forward to today, and Miramar has uncovered multiple high-grade gold results from both the Marylebone West target and the new 1-kilometre Highway target; the third new gold discovery at Gidji since Miramar hit the boards.
Next up, Miramar plans to complete a substantial aircore program over the Boorara North target, which includes an underexplored 4-kilometre segment of the Boorara Shear Zone.
The local geology is thought to match the nearby Paddington deposit and the Marylebone-Blackfriars-Highway area and it has potential for gold and nickel sulphide mineralisation.
Unlocking Gidji’s full potential
Commenting on the latest gold hits, Miramar executive chairman Allan Kelly said the results from the Highway target underscored the significant gold potential at Gidji.
“We have now outlined four new targets at Gidji since listing, each at least 1 kilometre long, and with multiple bedrock aircore gold intersections including several high-grade results up to 13 g/t gold,” he said.
“It is quite amazing that we can do this, adjacent to a major highway and only 15 kilometres from Kalgoorlie, which hosts one of the largest single gold deposits in the world,” he added.
“We look forward to continuing to uncover the full potential of the Gidji project.”
The results are in
Back in April this year, Miramar took to the soil with an aircore drilling campaign across Gidji’s Marylebone, Blackfriars and Highway targets.
Over at Marylebone, the explorer drilled infill holes around a discovery hole, fielding:
- 2 metres at 4.27 g/t gold from 56 metres;
- 5 metres at 2.52 g/t from 56 metres, including 1-metre at 12.6 g/t;
- 1-metre at 2.55 g/t from 59 metres; and
- 7 metres at 3.23 g/t from 57 metres, including 3 metres at 7.12 g/t.
Interestingly, this close-spaced drilling outlines an east-west trending anomaly at Marylebone, and reverse circulation drilling is planned to test its potential.
Meanwhile, over at the Blackfriars target, one hole ended in 3 metres at 1.07 g/t gold and remains open to the southeast.
In addition, maiden drilling at the Highway target produced results like 4 metres at 2.95 g/t, including 3 metres at 3.78 g/t and 5 metres at 0.87 g/t.
Finally, Miramar also reported results from RC and diamond drilling over the Marylebone East target, however, both rigs experienced considerable difficulty as they worked to reach the planned hole depths.
No further work is scheduled for this target at this stage and Miramar plans to systematically work through the other high-priority targets within the Gidji project.
