Polymetals Resources identifies multiple high-priority gold targets in survey over Alahiné Project in Guinea

Polymetals Resources Ltd (ASX:POL) has identified 10 high-priority geophysical targets at the Alahiné Gold Project in Guinea following an airborne magnetic survey.

The company has adjusted the geological model following these results which have refined its understanding of geological mineralisation controls within the project.

POL was in the midst of phase 3 reverse circulation (RC) drilling when the survey was completed, allowing the company to include two of the high-priority targets in the latter part of the 6,385-metre drilling program.

Drill core from this program has been sent to the laboratory for assay and results are expected in August.

Results give “confidence in strike continuity”

“The recent aeromagnetic survey has demonstrated why the Alahiné Project is in such a prospective gold zone and has provided the company with a better approach for targeting new prospects along strike both to the north and south," Polymetals' project manager William Pountney said.

“The major NNE [north-northeast] mineralised trend is coincident with an interpreted folded unit which provides confidence in the strike continuity of the system.

“The objective of the Phase 3 program was to confirm strike continuity along this major interpreted folded unit and we are excited about the upcoming results from this drilling.

“Upon interpretation of the recent aeromag[netic] data, the company has now prioritised future drilling within the southern portion of the licence to focus on the newly identified high-priority geophysical targets.”

From here Polymetals intends to publish initial assay results from its latest RC program next month, while also undertaking portable x-ray fluorescence (pXRF) analysis on auger drill samples to search for pathfinder elements such as aresenic, silver, zinc, molybdenum, chromium, tellurium and tungsten.
