XLMedia says revenue and earnings surge in first half

The global digital performance publisher expects revenue to jump 38% to US$44.5mln

XLMedia PLC (AIM:XLM, OTC:XLMDF) said revenue and earnings in the first half were significantly boosted by its US Sports operations.

The leading global digital performance publisher now expects revenue to jump 38% to US$44.5mln and EBITDA to surge 60% to US$10.5mln compared to the same period last year.

Its sports vertical arm delivered particularly strong growth during the period - up 191% to US$34mln.

The North American sports business said cash balances at the end of H1 were approximately US$17.7mln, down by over 50%.

XLMedia expects to report results in the week commencing 26 September 2022.

For context, there are just 21 American states and one Canadian one that allows online sports betting, with Ohio expected to permit it in January 2023.

Less than an hour into trade on Wednesday, its shares jumped 6.7% to 32p on the news.
