Anson Resources Ltd (ASX:ASN) has raised the lithium grades at Long Canyon No.2 in the Paradox Lithium Project in Utah, US, by 87% following a drilling program targeted at the Mississippian Unit within the tenure.
The company’s drilling of the unit returned grades of 187 parts per million (ppm) lithium and 3,793 ppm bromine through the entire drilled zone, compared to a recently reported result of 100 ppm lithium.
These lithium and bromine grades are materially higher than the maximum grade range Anson anticipated in its project exploration target and confirm the Mississippian Unit’s massive, supersaturated brine aquifer is rich in lithium and bromine.
Brines show similarities to Clastic Zones
Anson is particularly encouraged by these prospectivity indicators, given the brines at the Mississippian Unit appear to be similar in nature to those sampled at the Clastic Zones, which make up the project’s existing indicated and inferred JORC resource:
The company intends to grow this resource with drilling of the Mississippian Unit and isy progressing drilling at the Cane Creek 32-1 well to further sample brines for that purpose.
Anson also intends to re-enter historical wells on the western side of the project that sit atop the init, and drill-test them in order to further expand the Paradox Project’s resource.
