British Airways, which is owned by International Consolidated Airlines Group (IAG), is set for more staff strikes as its pilots prepare for action over pay issues.
Trade union Balpa, the British Airline Pilots Association, is threatening walkouts after the airline chiefs rejected calls for a new pay deal.
Industrial action could take place over the summer, causing more havoc to the plans of holidaymakers already disrupted by last-minute cancellations thanks to the chaos at airports.
Pilots had agreed to a pay cut in 2020 to help mitigate job losses, accepting a 20% cut that would fall to 8% over two years to save nearly 1,000 jobs.
However, after the success of actions by the Unite and GMB Unions, the pilots now want a pay increase.
Last week, ground handling staff cancelled strikes after accepting an 8% pay rise.
