HomeServe PLC will seek shareholder approval for the recommended 1,200p per share cash offer by Canada's Brookfield at the AGM to be held on Friday.
In a statement issued ahead of the meeting, the international home repairs and improvements company said trading has been in line with its expectations.
For the period 1 April to 21 July, the company saw its membership businesses in North America and EMEA continue “to make good progress, with policy retention rates remaining strong and customer service levels remaining high”.
It completed several acquisitions in North America and Europe in the period.
The number of trades on Checkatrade surpassed 47,000 as the flexibility offered by the tiered subscription package continued to resonate, with trade retention continuing to improve, the company noted.
Brookfield and HomeServe are progressing well on submitting regulatory and competition notifications to complete the transaction, which is expected to close in the latter months of 2022, HomeServe said.
