Marks and Spencer Group PLC (LSE:MKS) said Eoin Tonge, chief financial officer and chief strategy officer, is leaving to take up a position at Associated British Foods.
According to a statement, Tonge will continue in his current role until the end of his notice period, which will include supporting the business through its interim results in November.
Tonge will join the Primark owner after nearly two years at the company and will become finance director at Associated British Foods.
“Our financial controls, reporting, and financial discipline are in a far stronger place than when he arrived,” said chairman Archie Norman.
“Under his guidance, we have restored the balance sheet and created a strong platform for the next phase.”
“Eoin has been extremely helpful in supporting the Board and seeing through our planned succession to Stuart Machin as chief executive and Katie Bickerstaffe as co-chief executive.”
