Yandal Resources Ltd (ASX:YRL) has received approval for a work program on priority targets within the Yandal Belt Projects following the completion of a heritage survey with the Kultju Aboriginal Corporation.
The company plans to undertake a major drilling program across the Western Australian projects, consisting of 8,500 metres of reverse circulation (RC) drilling and 16,500 metres of aircore drilling targeting key prospects at Ironstone Well, Barwidgee and Mt McClure.
At Barwidgee Project, Yandal will drill test the Cash, Sims Find and New England Granite prospects, following up lookalike targets, extensional mineralisation and anomalous contact zones respectively.
At Ironstone Well, YRL will investigate the Flushing Meadows prospect – testing extensions of the 286,000-ounce gold resource there – and the Quarter Moon and Oblique prospects, where drilling will step out from high-grade, known mineralisation.
Finally at Mt McClure, the company will target the HMS Sulphur, Success, Parmelia and Challenger prospects, seeking to delineate strike extensions and potential footwall positions.

“The Ironstone Well and Barwidgee projects are two of our premier projects within the Yandal Belt and host some very compelling targets, including the Cash Prospect which is immediately along strike from Northern Star’s Corboys Deposit, the north-western strike extents of our high-grade Sims Find Prospect, and several other prospects including new areas defined during a full tenement review.
“We are eager to get this program underway and believe there is a great deal of potential to make new gold discoveries and expand the existing resource base in what is a proven gold mining region.
“We have also taken the opportunity to fully utilise the secured drilling rigs and extend the program to the Mt McClure Project where several additional prospects will be tested.
“All up the combined aircore and RC program will take three months with assay results to be reported through the remainder of 2022.”
Yandal has drilling preparations well in hand, with rigs secured for an August start to drilling and a strong pipeline of exploration schedule for the September quarter through to the end of this calendar year.
