Brookside Energy Ltd (ASX:BRK) continues to make encouraging progress on operations at its third well in the SWISH Area of Interest (AOI) in the world-class Anadarko Basin in Oklahoma.
Flow-back operations have kicked off at the high-impact Flames 3-10-1S-3W WXH1 Well with the well flowing to temporary facilities on location as the stimulation fluids start to be recovered.
“Significant milestone”
“This is a significant milestone in our SWISH HBP program, with the Flames Well (our longest lateral drilled to date) successfully drilled, cased and completed for production and now set to be turned to sales,” managing director Dave Prentice said.
The company is using temporary facilities designed to remove sand and other debris from the stimulation fluids during this initial flow-back phase.
Oil and gas have already been recovered during the early part of the flow-back process, and Brookside says that operations are proceeding on schedule, safely and without incident.
What’s next?
Plans are now in train to:
- continue flow-back operations to recover stimulation fluids;
- turn the well from temporary facilities to the company’s permanent production facilities; and
- continue to recover stimulation fluids and start sales of oil and gas.

About the Flames Well
The Flames Well is operated by Black Mesa Energy, LLC, a subsidiary of Brookside.
It was drilled as a full-length horizontal well targeting the Woodford Formation at an average depth of around 7,800 feet, and to a total measured depth of around 18,140 feet by Kenai Drilling Company in Carter County, Oklahoma.
