AfriTin Mining reports further positive drilling results from flagship Uis mine

“We are confident, following continued positive results, that we are on track to reaching our objective of upgrading our resource for lithium and tantalum," said chief executive Anthony Viljoen

AfriTin Mining Ltd (AIM:ATM, OTC:AFTTF) released further positive results from a lithium and tantalum drilling programme at its flagship Uis mine in Namibia.

The best pegmatite intersections from the second batch of results, covering five drill holes, included: 22 metres at 0.153% tin, 104 parts per million (ppm) tantalum and 1.18% lithium oxide from a depth of 23m; 69m at 0.178% tin, 98 ppm tantalum and 0.45% lithium oxide; and 52m at 0.173% tin, 86 ppm tantalum and 0.58% lithium oxide.

Pegmatite, the primary source of lithium, was intersected in all holes.

"These results confirm our understanding of the mineralisation at Uis, in particular the polymetallic nature of the V1/V2 pegmatite, which continues to show consistent tin, tantalum and lithium mineralisation,” said chief executive Anthony Viljoen.

Last month, the company reported better-than-expected lithium grades for the first four holes of the infill drilling programme.

“We are confident, following continued positive results, that we are on track to reaching our objective of upgrading our resource for lithium and tantalum for the V1/V2 pegmatite,” said Viljoen.

“This phase of our drill programme contains notable intersections of lithium and tantalum mineralisation, which supports our strategic plan to implement additional processing plant circuits by Q4 of this year.”

It has now completed 32 holes of a 50-hole programme.
