NA Proactive news snapshot: Tartisan Nickel, Argentina Lithium & Energy, AIM ImmunoTech, Altamira Gold, NorthWest Copper UPDATE ...

A glance at some of the day's highlights from the Proactive Investors US and Canada newswires

Fundamental Research has issued a 'buy' rating on Tartisan Nickel Corp with a fair value of $0.85 per share, well above current levels of $0.28. In a note, Fundamental Research analysts pointed out that the recent Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) on Tartisan's Kenbridge nickel project in the Kenora mining district, northwestern Ontario, returned attractive economics, with an After Tax-NPV5% of $109 million, and a high AT-IRR of 20%, using US$10/lb nickel. They noted that unlike the historic PEA, which was based on an open-pit/underground operation, the latest PEA was based on a smaller-scale underground operation, targeting the project’s deeper/higher-grade resource, saying this scenario is more attractive as higher-grade ore can be accessed in the initial years of operation, through an existing shaft infrastructure on site. The analysts concluded: "We believe the PEA was conservative as it did not account for the remaining 30% of open-pittable resources".

Fundamental Research Corp has started coverage on Argentina Lithium & Energy Corp with a “Buy” rating and a price target of $0.52. The firm's analysts noted that Argentina Lithium holds a portfolio of four early-stage/underexplored lithium assets that cover a combined 69,000 hectares (Ha) across four salars (salt lakes) in Argentina. The company is “trading at just $215 per hectare (Ha) versus the average of $524 per Ha for pre-resource stage juniors,” the analysts pointed out.

AIM ImmunoTech Inc reported promising follow-on data from its previously published single-center named patient program evaluating its flagship drug candidate Ampligen (rintatolimod) as maintenance therapy for pancreatic cancer. For the study, patients with locally advanced pancreatic cancer or metastatic disease were treated following FOLFIRINOX (a chemotherapy combination used to treat pancreatic cancer), said the company. The enrollment of additional patients in the Early Access Program (EAP) was approved by the Inspectorate of Healthcare in the Netherlands and new patients have been treated at Erasmus M.C. According to the company, new patient data showed "additional progression-free and overall survival over previously published data."

Altamira Gold Corp has issued an update on the copper and gold exploration program at its Santa Helena project in Mato Grosso State, Brazil. The company announced that additional soil sampling has defined a significant second copper-in-soil anomaly at the project, as well as confirmed consistent copper values in the original soil anomaly. Both are being prepared for drill testing, the company said. These anomalies measure 500 meters (m) by 500m and 800m by 600m, respectively, and have consistent soil values above 46 parts per million (ppm) with a peak of 448ppm.

NorthWest Copper Corp has welcomed the results of the first three holes from ongoing drilling at its Kwanika project in British Columbia, which, it said, have underscored the asset's potential. All three holes hit "significant" copper-gold grades in the southern part of the deposit, expanding the mineralized footprint and increasing the confidence in the resource estimate. Kwanika and the adjacent Stardust deposit are NorthWest's flagship assets and the 2022 Kwanika program includes holes designed to expand the known resource, add new high-grade zones and to test for new centres of mineralization regionally. "These three holes are just the first piece of news from our exciting 2022 Kwanika drill program, where we have already completed 25 holes," Northwest Copper CEO Peter Bell told investors.

CULT Food Science Corp has announced that Pearlita Foods, a venture in which it is invested, has successfully manufactured the world’s first alternative oyster prototype. The prototype was grown to appear and taste the same as a traditional oyster from the ocean while being produced in a sustainable and ethical manner, and CULT said it believes the alternative oyster may be critical in solving part of the world’s growing food security crisis. "We are impressed by and proud of Pearlita’s successful production of its first cultivated oyster prototype. Pearlita’s commitment to making the world a better place and doing its part to increasing the world’s food security is encouraging as we possess the same goals,” said Lejjy Gafour, chief executive officer of CULT in a statement.

Skye Bioscience Inc said completion of the production of its Phase 1 drug has been delayed to the beginning of September 2022 due to a now resolved cyber-attack and planned maintenance shutdown at its contract manufacturer (CMO). Skye said it now expects to initiate enrollment of its Phase 1 clinical study in Q4 2022, report preliminary topline data in early Q1 2023, and report final data in Q2 2023. Skye's SBI-100 Ophthalmic Emulsion (SBI-100 OE) had most recently been scheduled for production and fill in the first week of July 2022. "The unpredictable events that have detrimentally affected our production schedule have been frustrating, but we are confident in the renewed commitment of our contract manufacturer to produce our clinical trial material and the schedule to start our planned study," Punit Dhillon, CEO and Chair of Skye said in a statement.

Goldshore Resources Inc has announced assay results from its ongoing 100,000-meter drill program at the Moss Lake Project in Northwest Ontario, Canada. Drilling is aiming to better define high-grade structural zones within the Moss Lake deposit. Results have been received for three holes that have infilled areas of the Main Zone that are between sections drilled by historic holes with collar survey problems. In a statement, Goldshore president and CEO, Brett Richards, commented: "We continue to receive results that confirm the developing model that high grades occur within broader envelopes of lower grade gold mineralization. Our understanding of the geology is now at a level that will enable us to accurately represent the position of high grades within a resource model we are aiming to produce by the end of the year."

Wishpond Technologies Ltd has said it expects to report record revenue for the second quarter (Q2) of 2022, exceeding the previous record of $4.7 million achieved in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2021, boosted by a diversified customer base and robust demand for its products and services. The company said its business has not been hindered by macroeconomic challenges such as high inflation, rising interest rates and supply chain disruptions that have affected other industries around the world. Wishpond posted higher monthly recurring revenue (MRR) for April, May and June compared to the same months in the first quarter of 2022, and said it has continued to experience similar growth in July. Based on the revenue achieved in June, the company’s annualized revenue run-rate (ARR) now exceeds $20 million for the first time in its history, Wishpond added.

Royal Fox Gold Inc has reported encouraging drill results from the northern part of the Arctic Fox zone at its Philibert project in Quebec, which, it says, will further add "significant" near-surface gold ounces to the resource. The company has released results from eight holes, which tested the northern hanging wall contact of the Arctic Fox Zone over a 400 metre (m) strike length and up to 150m vertical depth. Three of the best holes sit along a 150m strike length, highlighting the consistency of gold grade and widths of the Arctic Fox Zone, the company said. "Combined with the recently released results from the southern portion, the Arctic Fox zone continues to demonstrate continuity and consistency just like the overall deposit, and add significant near-surface gold ounces, which are paramount factors as we aim to achieve strong potential economics in the future," said Simon Marcotte, the CEO of Royal Fox, in a statement.

Avicanna Inc said it has entered into an Intellectual Property Licensing & Royalty Agreement (IPLRA) with Ei.Ventures Inc to develop and commercialize functional fungi-based products. The initial focus of the research and development efforts will be on functional, apoptogenic, fungi-based formulations in the form of consumer-friendly and single-dosed products, the company said. "Over the past six years our team established a scientific platform that has led to the commercialization of several products across international commercial channels in the regulated cannabis industry,” Aras Azadian, Avicanna CEO said in a statement.

Australis Capital Inc (AUSA), doing business as Audacious, said it has met key milestones towards obtaining a full adult-use cannabis license in the state of New Jersey. To graduate from a provisional to a full adult-use state license, the company said it needed to secure an appropriate building and land, as well as municipal approval for the establishment of a cannabis business on the designated premises. AUSA said it had entered into an agreement to lease a 105,000-square-foot cannabis grow facility in the municipality of Millville, New Jersey.

Kenorland Minerals Ltd has signed an earn-in agreement with Antofagasta Minerals SA on the Tanacross copper-gold project located in eastern Alaska in the US. The agreement grants Antofagasta an option to acquire a 70% interest in the project by spending US$30 million on exploration over eight years and delivering a NI 43-101 compliant preliminary economic assessment report. The Tanacross project covers 45,000 hectares of Alaska state-owned land, approximately 70 kilometres northeast of Tok, along the Alaska Highway. Mountain Boy Minerals Ltd has announced that the fieldwork is underway to expand the copper mineralized zones discovered last year on the Telegraph Copper-Gold Project in British Columbia's Golden Triangle. The company said this work is directed at the Border Zone, an area that saw limited previous exploration as it straddled a property line before Mountain Boy consolidated the property last year. The Border Zone sits in the middle of a 6 kilometre (km) trend with evidence of porphyry-style mineralization previously identified to the north and south. In a statement, Lawrence Roulston, Mountain Boy's chief executive officer, said: "Ongoing field work continues to validate the presence of at least one center of porphyry-style mineralization. The presence of visibly high-grade copper mineralization associated with veins and hydrothermal breccias is indicative of proximity to a porphyry system and may well constitute a target in its own right."

Progressive Planet Solutions Inc said it has filed a patent application for the PozGlass 100G product it is developing. PozGlass 100G is made from finely ground post-consumer glass, which is diverted from landfill. Ground glass pozzolan has historically been used to replace up to 30% of cement in concrete to improve performance and reduce its carbon footprint but it contains sodium. When sodium is reduced, it is stronger and better able to reduce alkali-silica reactivity (ASR). The company said its patent application covers a process where PozGlass100G permanently sequesters CO2 while reducing sodium. "Having moved production in-house with the commissioning of the PozGlass 100G Demonstration Plant in June, results came down to the wire with our best results to date coming just 4 days prior to our application deadline of July 16," said Ian Grant, chief operating officer (COO) of PLAN.
