Vicinity Motor Corp. (TSX-V:VMC) announced that it has inked a new distribution agreement with Portland-based dealership and transportation solutions provider Schetky Bus and Van Sales to offer the Vicinity Lightning, Vicinity Classic, and VMC-Optimal vehicles.
The company said the initial commitment was for 18 vehicles and under the terms of the agreement, Schetky would distribute Vicinity vehicles throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Alaska.
Vicinity CEO William Trainer said Schetky’s long history of selling innovative and quality vehicles made it an ideal partner to represent the company in its US home state of Washington.

"Known for offering some of the most innovative and highly awarded vehicles in the commercial and school bus industries, Schetky's brings nearly 80 years of experience servicing customers across the Northwest,” he said.
He added that, with some of the lowest electric energy prices in the US excluding Alaska, the Northwest was a prime region to benefit from electric vehicles (EVs), providing Vicinity with additional opportunities in this exciting market.
“We believe our EVs will be a strong addition to Schetky's EV segment, while concurrently providing Vicinity with a team of sales experts to highlight the benefits of electrification to their loyal base of satisfied customers," Trainer said.
Schetky co-owner David Schetky said Vicinity was a natural partner with Schetky’s Washington State and Canadian headquarters nearby to help expand the company’s growing range of EV options.
“We look forward to working with Vicinity to showcase their heavy-duty, light-duty and special purpose electric vehicles to our customers,” he said.
Vicinity Motor is a North American supplier of EVs for both public and commercial enterprise use.
