Meeka Metals Ltd (ASX:MEK)'s exploration efforts at the Murchison Gold Project in WA have received a boost with the discovery of thick, shallow high-grade gold at St Anne’s prospect.
Assays are in for the first 25 aircore holes drilled at St Anne’s in June with the bounty at the prospect yet to be included in the current mineral resource.
Highlights
Some of the highlights include:
- 32 metres at 2.20 g/t gold from 48 metres including 20 metres at 3.31 g/t;
- 32 metres at 2.03 g/t from 44 metres including 16 metres at 3.59 g/t; and
- 28 metres at 1.47 g/t from 28 metres including 8 metres at 3.46 g/t.
These results build on broad zones of shallow, high-grade gold reported from St Anne’s in January, including:
- 24 metres at 4.81 g/t from 68 metres including 4 metres at 20.30 g/t;
- 36 metres at 1.02 g/t from 24 metres including 8 metres at 2.35 g/t;
- 20 metres at 1.01 g/t from 40 metres; and
- 8 metres at 2.66 g/t from 104 metres including 1-metre at 16.45 g/t.

Meeka managing director Tim Davidson said: “The persistent return of shallow, high-grade assays from our Murchison Gold Project reinforces the exceptional growth opportunity.
“Results are showing St Anne’s has good geological and grade continuity and drilling continues to expand the footprint of this high-grade system.
“The mineralisation remains open and we are now drilling extensional holes to the north and the south.
“The inclusion of these thick zones of shallow, high-grade gold at St Anne’s in our mineral resource will have a meaningful impact on the robust outcomes our December 2021 scoping study has already delivered. This is targeted to occur in the second half of the year when we complete the next mineral resource update.”
Highly fertile gold shear system
The confirmed mineralisation at St Anne’s now stretches over a strike length of about 1 kilometre within a highly fertile 7-kilometre gold shear system, which also hosts the large, high-grade Turnberry gold deposit.
The recent drilling at St Anne’s is in an untested zone and remains open along strike and at depth.
Shallow drilling continues at the prospect, targeting extensions to the north and south. Further results are expected in the coming weeks.
