Critical Resources Ltd (ASX:CRR) continues to set a fast pace with encouraging results from Mavis Lake Lithium Project in Ontario, Canada.
Assay results have been received from four more drill holes containing spodumene laths, which correlate to higher-grading lithium oxide assays, including 7.63 metres at 1.35% lithium dioxide.
Of the 42 holes drilled, 39 have intersected spodumene-bearing pegmatite.
Highlights
Assay data has confirmed lithium mineralisation, correlating with initial visual results identified immediately post-drilling. Results include:
- 7.63 metres at 1.35% lithium dioxide from 11.57 metres downhole, including 5 metres at 1.77% from 13.5 metres, 3.5 metres at 2.0% from 13.5 metres and 2 metres at 2.48% from 13.5 metres;
- 4.28 metres at 0.85% from 105.67 metres downhole; and
- 5.3 metres at 0.98% from 65 metres downhole.
As for the visuals, the company has seen:
- 8.9 metres of around 10% fine to large spodumene laths from 141.35 metres within pegmatite;
- 6.45 metres of around 5% fine to large spodumene laths from 111.85 metres within pegmatite; and
- 1.85 metres of around 25% fine to large spodumene laths from 126.4 metres within pegmatite.

The four most recent drill holes have intersected spodumene-bearing pegmatite within Pegmatite 6, which continues to extend known spodumene mineralisation towards the west.
Resource definition program continues
And there will be no rest for the drills. CRR is planning a further 5,000 metres as part of a step-out and infill program in support of defining a JORC-compliant resource.

The Mavis Lake Lithium Project is 19 kilometres east of the town of Dryden, Ontario, in close proximity to the Trans-Canada highway and major railway transportation arteries linking larger cities such as Thunder Bay, Ontario, to the southeast and Winnipeg, Manitoba, to the west.
The region boasts excellent infrastructure with hydro-power located a few kilometres to the south-west of the project and is a well-established lithium province with multiple projects in the vicinity.
