Clarkson PLC (LSE:CKN) said trading in the first half of the year has been strong and it is "confident in the outlook" as it expects full-year results to be "materially ahead" of previous expectations.
The shipping services provider said in a trading update that it expects to report an unaudited pre-tax profit of at least £42mln for the first half of 2022, up from £27.5mln a year ago.
Last year the company swung back to statutory profits following a recovery in shipping markets.
For this year so far, Clarkson reported strong performance across all divisions, with its broking division leading nearly all key shipping sectors.
The company is to publish its interim results on August 8.
Shares of the company rose over 8% to 3,200p in early trading on Wednesday.
