Latin Resources Ltd (ASX:LRS) has added 1.2 kilometres of southern strike extension to the Colina Lithium Prospect, one of several prospects at the Salinas Lithium Project in Brazil, doubling the prospective strike to more than 2 kilometres.
LRS intends to undertake 25,000 metres of resource definition drilling at Colina, some of which will be focused on testing extensions to high-grade lithium pegmatites interpreted to continue into the new tenure under shallow cover.
Ongoing drilling across the Colina Prospect continues to show ‘excellent’ results, according to the company, which has intersected more wide, spodumene-rich pegmatites in drill core.

“We are very pleased to be able to secure this additional ground to the south of our Colina Prospect, where drilling shows that our high-grade pegmatites are open and continue to the south in this direction,” Latin Resources exploration manager Tony Greenaway said.
“Our resource definition drilling is progressing well and is on schedule to meet our fast-tracked timeline.
“We have additional drilling rigs on site now and have expanded our geological team on site to keep pace with the increase in activity.
“We are also very pleased to commence the preliminary metallurgical test work on the Colina pegmatite samples.
“We now have our samples at the lab, with Dense Media Separation, flotation and detailed mineralogical studies commencing this week.”
