Meeka Metals hits up to 20 metres at 4.53 g/t gold as Turnberry's Western Flank shines brighter

The new results confirm the continuity of shallow, high-grade gold projecting to the north, into a zone previously untested by drilling.

Meeka Metals Ltd (ASX:MEK) has intersected more broad zones of shallow, high-grade gold from drilling targeting the Western Flank of Turnberry Central at the Murchison Gold Project in Western Australia.

The new results of up to 20 metres at 4.53 g/t gold within 32 metres at 3.09 g/t from 32 metres confirm the continuity of shallow, high-grade gold projecting to the north, into a zone previously untested by drilling.

Drilling of 20 aircore holes also returned:

  • 12 metres at 3.80 g/t gold from 52 metres including 4 metres at 10.70 g/t;
  • 48 metres at 0.91 g/t from 12 metres including 24 metres at 1.37 g/t;
  • 8 metres at 1.77 g/t from 48 metres including 4 metres at 3.18 g/t;
  • 24 metres at 0.58 g/t from 40 metres including 4 metres at 1.15 g/t;
  • 4 metres at 1.77 g/t from 40 metres;
  • 1-metre at 3.72 g/t from 88 metres – hole ended in mineralisation; and
  • 8 metres at 0.41 g/t from 52 metres

Further drilling has been planned aimed at increasing strike to the north and extending existing holes.

A pre-feasibility study for the Murchison Gold Project is progressing positively and remains on schedule for release in September 2022.

Turnberry currently hosts a mineral resource of 610,000 ounces at 1.7 g/t.

Plan showing interpreted shallow high-grade gold mineralisation intersected on the Western Flank.

“Exceptional results”

Meeka managing director Tim Davidson said: “These intersections highlight the growth opportunity we see at our Murchison Gold Project.

"Drilling on Turnberry’s Western Flank, outside the mineral resource, continues to deliver exceptional results and the mineralisation remains open along strike and at depth.

“Preparations are underway for further drilling to expand the footprint of these shallow, high-grade lodes following the drilling currently in progress at St Anne’s.

"Shallow, high-grade oxide mineralisation added to the mineral resource through this drilling will have a meaningful impact on the robust outcomes of our December 2021 Scoping Study and will be included in the upcoming pre-feasibility study.”
