Cooper Metals Ltd (ASX:CPM) has revealed new copper-gold targets by way of an induced polarisation (IP) survey at King Solomon prospect within the Mt Isa East Copper-Gold Project in Northwestern Queensland.
Results from the IP survey have confirmed a strong chargeability anomaly coincident with known mineralisation recently defined by reverse circulation (RC) drilling at King Solomon.
The IP survey has also identified several chargeability anomalies that have the potential to significantly increase the mineralised footprint at King Solomon.
Furthermore, RC drilling at King Solomon 2 and 3 prospects indicate the potential of new IP chargeability anomalies identified following the company's maiden drilling program in May.

Cooper managing director Ian Warland said: “The IP survey is a potential game-changer for King Solomon, it successfully mapped the known copper-gold mineralisation at King Solomon 1 and has highlighted a number of other exciting targets for us to follow up in the immediate vicinity.
“The drilling results at King Solomon 2 and 3, when placed in the context of the IP survey, also present an exciting opportunity to discover additional copper-gold mineralisation at the prospect.
“Drill planning is well advanced and we will be out testing these new exciting targets as soon as possible”
IP survey
IP surveys map King Solomon 1 copper-gold mineralisation intersected in recent RC drilling and identify significant additional targets, down dip, adjacent to and along strike from known copper-gold mineralisation at King Solomon 1, 2 and 3, suggesting a much larger mineralised system than previously indicated.

One dipole-dipole induced polarization (DDIP) cross-section inversion model 70850N at King Solomon 1 indicates extension to the mineralisation below and above drill hole 22MERC016 which intersected 17 metres at 2.2% copper, including 8 metres at 4.3% copper from 84 metres.
RC drilling results
King Solomon 2 and 3 RC drilling assay results indicate the significant potential of new IP chargeability anomalies identified after the maiden drilling program in May.
Hole 22MERC011 drilled under mineralised outcrop has clipped the IP anomaly intersecting 18 metres at 1.4% copper and 0.03 g/t gold from 42 metres including 7 metres at 2.1% copper from 43 metres and 3 metres at 2.4% copper from 56 metres.
The two best drill holes 22MERC011 and 22MERC012 intersected the IP anomaly while the other seven were outside of the IP anomaly.
Notably, more than 500 metres of combined strike length of IP chargeability anomalies were identified at King Solomon 2 and 3.
Forward plan
The new IP targets at King Solomon will be drilled as soon as final drill planning is completed and this is expected to start within the next four weeks.
