BATM's Edgility software has been chosen by broadband provider CityFibre (AIM:CFHL) for a pilot ahead of an expected national UK deployment to provide virtualised network services.
CityFibre (AIM:CFHL) specialises in broadband for businesses and has more than 1,500 customers. It is currently is building a new UK telecoms infrastructure network to cover 8mln premises spanning 285 cities, towns and locations.
Using its virtual network, BATM says CityFibre (AIM:CFHL) will be able to manage this network from one central location without the need for on-site technical personnel.
Zvi Marom, BATM’s chief executive, added: "We are delighted to be partnering with CityFibre to support the delivery of their virtualised network vision.
“The selection of Edgility by such a significant telecoms company is a fantastic validation of our best-in-class technology, which we expect will lead to further interest from other businesses.”
David Tomalin, group CTO of CityFibre, noted: “The Edgility suite will enable us to efficiently manage vast numbers of physical edge devices from a centralised location while providing greater control over costs, choice of virtualised service vendor and reducing waste and CO2 emissions."
Broker Shore capital added: "This further partnership with a major network in the UK is a further positive affirmation, in our view, of BATM’s strategic route to market with Edgility, designed to open up access to a very large market, in this case in the UK.
"We continue to observe that BATM is delivering strong progress across the development of its technologies and Group operations. BATM presents a profitable high-growth opportunity to investors across a span of technologies, these moving towards potential market inflection points."
