Yandal Resources Ltd (ASX:YRL) has discovered new zones of gold mineralisation at two of its prospects within the wholly-owned Gordons Project in Western Australia and confirmed solid gold grades at Malone prospect with results from aircore, reverse circulation (RC) and diamond drilling programs.
RC and diamond drilling at Malone was designed to follow-up an intersection of 5 metres at 7.7 g/t gold from 210 metres, with results indicating the presence of a western-dipping portion of mineralisation and returning assays of:
- 3.58 metres at 1.5 g/t gold from 206.42 metres, including 0.58 metres at 8.2 g/t gold;
- 7.0 metres at 2.2 g/t from 271 metres, including 1-metre at 6.9 g/t; and
- 4.0 metres at 2.3 g/t from 87 metres, including 1-metre at 5.5 g/t
The new zones of mineralisation were discovered at the Meuleman and Zoehrer prospects, which returned intersections of:
- 4 metres at 5.1 g/t from 44 metres, including 2 metres at 9.7g/t at Mueleman; and
- 12 metres at 2.3 g/t from 184 metres, including 1-metre at 8.4 g/t at Zoehrer.
Highlight “quality and potential scale”
“We are very pleased with these final assays from drilling at Gordons, as they clearly highlight the high-grade quality and potential scale of our targets within the Gordons Gold Project,” Yandal Resources managing director Tim Kennedy said.
“The Malone Prospect, located 500 metres west of the Gordons Dam gold deposit, continues to shape as an exciting opportunity, with the latest drilling confirming the previously intersected high-grade mineralisation and suggesting a potential southern extension
“A single RC hole at the Meuleman Prospect returned the impressive intersection of 4 metres at 5.1 g/t gold, and given the prospect remains open to the north and south and down dip, we view this as a potentially new area of significant high-grade gold mineralisation.
“Zoehrer results are also highly encouraging as they outline a new area of high-grade mineralisation strategically located between the Star of Gordon prospect and the Gordon Sirdar underground gold mine.
“Very little effective historic drilling has been completed in this area, and a systematic program of follow-up drilling is being planned for this quarter.”
