Panthera Resources completes latest drill programme at Bassala project

“The project has been accelerated from a grassroots prospect through a gold in soil and geophysics survey, and two drilling programmes in 2021," said chief executive Mark Bolton

Panthera Resources PLC (AIM:PAT) told investors that its drill programme at the Bassala project in Mali is now complete and all samples have been delivered to the lab for assaying.

The programme, comprising 2,601 metres (m) of reverse circulation and 3,030m of air-core drilling, was a follow-up to “highly encouraging” previous results earlier this year and in 2021.

Panthera’s team observed significant silica-chlorite-sulphide alteration and associated quartz veining in most of the programme’s targeted intervals. Results from the lab are expected later in the current quarter.

"The continued and rapid progress at Bassala is a credit to our operations team in Mali,” said Panthera chief executive Mark Bolton.

“The project has been accelerated from a grassroots prospect through a gold in soil and geophysics survey, and two drilling programmes in 2021 for 18,935m.”

Bolton added: “The Basala project has a large number of mineralised targets with three areas prioritised for follow-up AC/RC drilling in this programme.

“Logging of drill cuttings has observed strong quartz veining and alteration (sulphide or limonite after sulphide, chlorite and silica). We look forward to the assay results expected later in the quarter."

Panthera said the latest programme was completed on time and within budget, and no safety incidents were reported.
