Symphony Environmental Technologies PLC (AIM:SYM) has reported a sizeable step up in demand for its d2p anti-insect technology (d2p AI) from partner Rivulis Irrigation.
Rivulis has placed orders for d2p AI exceeding US$340,000 this month, said Symphony, up from sales in 2021 of US$65,000 and US$130,000 during the first half of 2022.
Symphony said it had been working with Rivulis since 2017 to develop a range of irrigation pipes for farmers and growers.
Insects were puncturing the existing plastic irrigation pipes and drip tapes, meaning water was being lost.
By incorporating d2p AI into its products, Rivulis has significantly reduced the damage caused by insects, Symphony said.
Rivulis has used d2p AI in irrigation systems in France, Turkey, Australia and Mexico and Symphony expects its partner, which sells the product under the Rivulis Defend brand, will place more orders order before the end of this year.
