Metal Tiger: Cobre kicks off fresh drilling at the Ngami copper project

“We are thrilled to be recommencing exploration work,” Cobre's Martin Holland said.

Metal Tiger PLC (AIM:MTR, OTC:MRTTF, ASX:MTR) noted that its part-owned associate Cobre Limited has announced the start of the next stage of drilling at the Ngami copper project.

AIM-quoted Metal Tiger has a 21% interest in Cobre which in turn is acquiring 100% of the Kalahari Metals Limited (KML) venture, which holds Ngami, through a deal announced last month.

The initial phase of drilling is designed to test the first of several prospective areas identified in the northern margin of the Kalahari Copper Belt.

“The Kalahari Copper Belt is one of the most prospective copper belts world-wide,” said Martin Holland, Cobre chair and managing director.

“This programme represents the start of Cobre’s new strategy to open up the significant potential within KML’s extensive license holding on the northern margin of the Kalahari Copper Belt.

“We are thrilled to be recommencing exploration work,” he added.

“Mitchell Drilling International has been commissioned to undertake the drilling and have already mobilised to site, with drilling expected to start shortly.

“We look forward to updating the market with results as they become available.”
