Appia Rare Earths & Uranium says drill results indicate a promising new area for exploration at its Alces Lake property in Saskatchewan

“High grades found at Diablo and Sweet Chili Heat point to the potential of these two areas with much more exploration drilling to be done," said Appia Rare Earths & Uranium president Frederick Kozak

Appia Rare Earths & Uranium Corp said assay results from its 2021 drilling program at its Alces Lake high-grade rare earth elements and gallium property in Saskatchewan have indicated the Western Anomaly is a promising new discovery area which will be the focus of future exploration.

Highlights from the drill program include multiple total rare earth oxide (TREO) intercepts in three Sweet Chili Heat holes close to the surface of the Western Anomaly, the completion of 34 drill holes at Magnet Ridge with assay results pending, and the new discovery of anomalous radioactivity at Magnet Ridge West with drilled widths up to 49 metres (m) in 10 new holes.

Appia president Frederick Kozak said the remaining assay results were better than the channel sample results previously released by the company and confirmed the rare earth potential of the Western Anomaly area.

“This is a very promising new discovery area and will be the focus of future exploration,” he said.

“High grades found at Diablo and Sweet Chili Heat point to the potential of these two areas with much more exploration drilling to be done. On completion of drilling in the highly prospective WRCB-Magnet Ridge area, Appia will commence drilling on other prospective areas, including the Western Anomaly targets.”

Appia said it has drilled more than 14,000m at WRCB, Magnet Ridge, Magnet Ridge West, Strocen, and the Western Limb as part of its planned 20,000m drill program during the 2022 field season as the company works towards a maiden resource estimate for the area.

The company said it expected that the maiden resource estimate would initially be for the WRCB and Magnet Ridge areas, with the timing of the report yet to be determined but likely to be closer to the end of 2022.

Appia is a Canadian company focused on delineating high-grade critical rare earth elements and uranium on the Alces Lake property, as well as prospecting for high-grade uranium in the prolific Athabasca Basic on its Loranger, North Wollaston, and Eastside properties.
